"There were lots of supporters that season shouting, 'Come on the Hi Hi's!' This was something I wanted to ask Bob - just where did the team get its nickname? Bob laughed. 'The chant was called the Cathkin Whisper for some reason. But nobody really knows its origins. There are explanations but they're not very convincing, such as Thirds always kicked the ball high; the club came from a Highland regiment, that kind of thing. But Thirds had nothing to do with the Highlands. They got their name from a regiment called the 3rd Lanark Rifle Volunteers.'"
